Before they were lost in the void of the web I thought I’d share these videos I posted on google a few years back. The camera I used at the time failed and so access to the mini DV tapes is costly. Watching these videos again reminds me that we *can* make our own adventures. There’s no need to pay thousands of dollars to an outfitter to take you someplace and cater to your safety and other needs. With a much smaller budget, detailed safety planning, practice, and good decision making skills you can create amazing adventure on your own…

endangered sonoran pronghorn ~ aerial surveys

This video is a compilation of clips I took over a two day period from two different AZGFD Cessna 185’s. Our task was to survey/locate herds of endangered wild Sonoran Pronghorn on the Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge, the Organ Pipe National Monument and the Air Force tactical ranges near Ajo and Yuma. Over the course of two days, using radio telemetry and transect surveys, we found a number of pronghorn herds… This video is more about the scenery and low level flight since, when we would possibly encounter pronghorn, I had to put the video camera down and focus on the work …
